Officially launching the DCEU, Man of Steel was released in 2013. Introducing Henry Cavill as Superman, the movie also featured Kevin Costner as Clark’s adoptive father, Jonathan Kent. Fielding questions from fans in a new video for Letterboxd, Snyder was asked about the movie’s scenes with Costner’s character and how they tend to make fans cry. For his part, Snyder admitted that he also gets emotional with the Jonathan Kent scenes, giving credit to Costner’s portrayal along with screenwriter David S. Goyer.
